How can we help you?
The site is open from April to September every year.
Check-in is between 4-8pm. There are no signs or streetlights in the forest and so we advise that you do not get here when it is dark.
Check out is at 10am.
Bring wellies, food for your stay and any drinks and medicines that you may need. Bring a torch and some batteries, books to read, and warm clothes for night time. Then follow our ‘getting here’ instructions and then just……relax and switch off.
A safari tent is a wooden structure on its own decking platform. It has canvas sides and a canvas roof. It is large and offers a dining area, kitchen, living area, bedrooms and a verandah for outdoor seating. The shower, sink and toilet is in separate wooden hut at the back of the safari tent and is connected via steps/decking and is your own private en suite. With a safari tent you have your own private self-contained apartment space. It is much larger than any standard ‘tent’ or ‘pod’. At Matilda’s Field you can hire both tents and have exclusive use of the site for your own private holiday in the forest.
Our large tent (Brig Y Bryn) sleeps up to 6 people. It has a Euro King size bed, a double cabin bed and two euro-size single beds. Our other tent (Canol Y Cae) sleeps up to 4 people. It has a UK king size sleigh bed and two euro single beds.
