The story of Matilda’s Field Smallholding and Glamping Site

Welcome to Matilda’s Field.

Matilda’s Field is set within a 6-acre smallholding at Tyddyn Amlwg, surrounded by forest and wildlife. Our site is home to sheep, lambs, cats, chickens and plenty of other creatures who call this place home.

A short history

We began in 2017 when we moved to Tyddyn Amlwg and decided to make it not only our home, but a place that could provide a temporary retreat from everyday life for our guests.

Deep in the Dyfnant Forest

Tyddyn Amlwg is set in an incredibly peaceful location in the middle of the 6,000-acre Dyfnant Forest. It’s hard to find, but that’s part of the adventure in getting here! Once you’ve found us, we think you’ll agree that Matilda’s Field is: #oncefoundneverforgotten.

Your forest escape awaits

From the moment you arrive through the forest tracks to your first night under the stars, Matilda’s Field offers something rare; genuine peace and the space to simply be.

Life at Matilda’s Field

From morning mist over the pond to starlit evenings, every season brings its own magic to our corner of the Dyfnant Forest.
