Quality time with family and friends, or just time for you. Pure relaxation and immersion in nature.
At Matilda’s Field, you’re surrounded by ancient forest in one of the most remote and beautiful parts of Wales. The Dyfnant Forest is a 6,000-acre woodland at the periphery of the Cambrian Mountains, where forestry tracks wind through spectacular scenery.
Here there are no traffic lights and no light pollution. Just forest, wildlife, and the opportunity to truly rest and recharge. Whether you want to explore the Rainbow Trails on foot, bike, or with your horse, or simply sit by our pond watching the wildlife, this is your chance to experience the benefits of ‘forest bathing’, the practice the Japanese call Shinrin-Yoku.

Lake Vyrnwy
Just 5 miles from your safari tent.
Visit the stunning Lake Vyrnwy with its magnificent stone dam, built in the 1880s. Walk or cycle around the reservoir, spot red kites and other wildlife, or just take in the stunning views.
